We strive to maintain competitive fees, however, it is important to review our fee list for a transparent breakdown of costs.

ADDITIONAL DRIVER

After 1 free additional driver, each subsequent additional driver will be charged a fee.
CHARGE: $12

BABY SEAT

For newborns to 4 years of age.
CHARGE: $10/day up to $70

Booster SEAT

For children of 4 to 8 years of age.
CHARGE: $5/day up to $35

BREAKDOWN / ROADSIDE CALL OUT

The roadside callout fee maybe charged to the customer and will vary based on the customers chosen protection plan or the absence of.
CHARGE: Varied

CANCELLATIONS

If the customer terminates the Agreement.
CHARGE: 1 week or more prior to the start date: Full refund of any fees paid
24 hours or more prior to the start date: Full refund of the fees, minus a 50% cancellation fee
Less than 24 hours prior to the start date: Customer will not be entitled to any refund

CLEANING

The cleaning fee charged to the customer will be the car hire company’s reasonable costs of ensuring the returned vehicle is clean, as reasonably determined by the car hire company and which may exceed either flat cleaning fees.

Horizon Car Rentals maintains a strict No Smoking Policy across all vehicles in our fleet. This includes, but is not limited to, cigarettes, cigars, e-cigarettes, and vaping devices. Evidence may include (but is not limited to): Smoke or tobacco odour inside the vehicle; Ash or cigarette remnants in or on the seats, floor, vents, or cup holders; Burn marks or damage to upholstery or interior components.

If the baby car seat or child booster seat requires cleaning $50
Smoking cleaning fee $400

For a personalised delivery within a 20km radius of the Adelaide CBD.

ACCIDENT EXCESS REDUCTION – PREMIUM PACKAGE

Book with confidence, Horizon’s most comprehensive package. Reduces your damage liability to $0.00 and includes tyre and windscreen coverage.
CHARGE: Rates vary depending on days rented. Charge quoted at the time of booking.

ACCIDENT EXCESS REDUCTION – STANDARD PACKAGE

Horizon’s more affordable damage reduction offering. Reduces your damage liability to $1,000.
CHARGE: Rates vary depending on days rented. Charge quoted at the time of booking.

Damage Cover – Windscreen and Tyre Coverage

Protect yourself against damage to the tyres by way of puncture or other impact damage to windscreens by way of stone chips.
CHARGE: $8

IMPROPER RETURN

Failure to advise the location of the vehicle when prompted, failure to lock the car and/or lockbox upon return, failure to leave the terminal carpark ticket in the car during an airport return.
CHARGE: $100

LATE PAYMENTS

If a payment plan is agreed upon and the Customer fails to make any scheduled payment by the due date, the standard daily rental rate shall accrue and compound as a late fee for each day the payment remains outstanding. This late fee shall be in addition to any amounts already owed under the agreement.

If the customer extends the rental but fails to pay the extension payment request prior to the rental end time, the customer must pay a late charge as follows:
Up to 1 hour late: no charge
1-2 hours late: 50% of the daily rental fee
Over 2 hours late: The standard daily rental rate shall accrue and compound as a late fee for each day the payment remains outstanding.

This late fee shall be in addition to any amounts already owed under the agreement.

INFRINGEMENT FINES

The customer is responsible for the costs of all infringement notices and fines (e.g., parking tickets, towing fines) and any other additional charges incurred in relation to the Vehicle during the Rental Term.
Administration fee $75.00

LATE RETURN

If the Customer does not return the vehicle to the return address at the time stated on the rental agreement, the Customer must promptly pay the late charge applicable as follows:
CHARGE: Up to 1 hour late: no charge
1 – 2 Hours Late: 50% of daily rental fee
Over 2 hours late: 100% of daily rental fee

More than 24 hours late: $100 fee plus 100% of daily rental fee. This charge will accrue for each additional day the vehicle is not returned.

PREMIUM LOCATION SURCHARGE

For pickups at Adelaide Airport
CHARGE: $12

REFUELLING

The Customer must ensure that the vehicle has a full tank of petrol when it is returned to the car hire company. If not, the car hire company will determine the refuelling cost based on the current fuel price in addition to a convenience fee.
CHARGE: Variable cost based on current fuel price – $/Litre
